Because expectation, when not fulfilled, gives you pain.
When you get something without expecting it,
It gives you pleasure.
Keep doing your part
And leave the rest to God.”
Mothers Day:
Mothers day is everyday! I am so grateful to be the mom to my TWO girls! It is the most rewarding, tiring, exciting, fearful, engaging, amazing, worry some, nurturing, loving and fabulous job a woman can have.
The ability to create life, to conceive and carry a child, and then be able to love this child unconditionally is just indescribable.
Happy Mothers Day everyday.
Affection
Affection or fondness is a “disposition or rare state of mind or body”[1] that is often associated with a feeling or type of love. It has given rise to a number of branches of philosophy and psychology concerning: emotion (popularly: love, devotion etc.); disease; influence; state of being (philosophy);[2] and state of mind (psychology). “Affection” is popularly used to denote a feeling or type of love, amounting to more than goodwill or friendship. Writers on ethics generally use the word to refer to distinct states of feeling, both lasting and spasmodic. Some contrast it with passion as being free from the distinctively sensual element.
I am a very affectionate person. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am a kisser and a hugger. I am proud to have this quality because there are many people who cant show affection nor know how to receive it. To me there is nothing more special than to be greeted or parted with a kiss on the cheek, a smile and a warm hug (occasional I love you). We all can use that from time to time. I’ve instilled it in my daughter Giana…who just loves to be affectionate. My poor Sofia (6 months) must be over my obsession with kissing, smelling, and hugging her. I know when she’s older she will be just as affectionate as mommy! LOL!
Finally received my owl earrings from etsy.com. I am IN LOVE with them. When will this obsession with owls end?? LOL! I hope never because I am about to get two of them tattooed on my back to represent my daughters. I cant wait.
I looked up the meaning of owls and came across these:
- Romans had symbolically placed the owl in the pedestal to identify status, intelligence and wealth. It was extremely evident then that knowledge and wealth weighs almost equally.
- Related to the night is the moon, which owls are also connected to. It becomes a symbol of the feminine and fertility, with the moon’s cycles of renewal
- In early Indian folklore, Owls represent wisdom and helpfulness, and have powers of prophecy.
